Welcome Back and What's New in Photography

Welcome back to the slow-starting blog. The Autumn starts with some knitted balaclavas courtesy of Pussy Riot.

And they also burn a Platon Portrait of Putin - which says something about portraiture, power and patronage.

Mmm, so that's the blog back in business. And next week, starting on Monday 17th September, along with a whole load of other bloggers, I will be presenting my idea of what is new in photography, what has changed over the last 10 years, which is the length of time Joerg Colberg and his masterful Conscientious has been in business.

The general theme is to find "...photographers who have demonstrated an openness to
use new ideas in photography, who have taken chances with their photography and have shown an unwillingness to play it safe. These three categories can be interpreted in any way."

This will be a lovely way to kickstart the blogging year, to blow away those sun, sea and sand summer cobwebs and get back to the business of looking, thinking and writing.

Those taking part include

Joerg Colberg
Andrew Phelps
Mrs Deane
Reciprocity failure
Harvey Benge
La Pura Vida

...and many others.

So it should be fun and the disagreements will be endless. I already disagree with Joerg and I don't even know who I'm going to choose yet!
